I've never seen a desk like that here, but it looks cool! I like how the monitor is sunken.

in web apps I would do this in some sort of request handler middleware to set up basic details of the request to be kept in-context while the request is being handled. dunno what kinda app you're doing though

yeah, that's what I mean. You can define a custom Log Handler class (assuming stdlib python logging) that pulls it out. Or if you're using structlog, a structlog processor. The only thing you'd need to update your app code to do is put stuff *into* the context var

Maybe use async contextvars to keep track of it? Define a contextvar, set some data in it while you're doing your async processing, and have a log handler that pulls the data out of the contextvar and includes it in the log message.

I am happy about this because more devices (e.g. TVs) support youtube than twitch. and seriously, twitch chat & emotes are one of the stupidest parts of gaming culture

Does anyone have any recommendations for metering services? like, an API that my app can use to record usage of various things, for the purpose of later generating, say, a bill (or querying to see if I should deny service because they've gone over a limit)

I love how much more the development team has been talking to the community and it feels so good to know something is coming. It is also very nice knowing that they want to keep pushing the meta forward with more balancing. keep it up Jeff!!
