Day 3 (1/17/2020) 4th Ave commute home: honestly one of my scariest bike rides in the city. So much ice in the bike lanes—little frozen puddles to unusable sections completely covered in ice—forcing me merge into traffic with cars who did not want to share the road.

Day 3 4th Ave commute to work observations: -bc it's so cold outside, puddles in bike lanes are now sheets of ice (yay!) -I really need better winter biking gloves, or at least tech compatible ones so my fingers don't freeze... -when is in the bike lane

Also: it's super cool for me to get to hear NYC educators talk about sustainability and reducing waste in their schools. Kids and teachers are so inspiring! But I'm appalled to learn there are schools in NYC whose water fountains are tainted with lead. How is this acceptable??

Excellent article on the need for the Reckless Driver Accountability Act. One driver who receives hundreds of speed camera tickets and thinks it’s no big deal.

Talked to NYC educators today about the clothes we wear, what waste is created at all stages of the supply chain, and who's responsible for all of that waste.
