It’s sugar that’s my stress nemesis and I feel SO ILL afterwards. And yet I keep doing it. 🤦‍♀️

I don’t miss it at all. I eat mostly just protein and veg at each meal these days and feel so much better for it.

The older I get, the less I want to eat things that seem to weigh me down, like lead in my boots. I’ve almost stopped eating bread entirely, without realising I was doing it.

I’m working towards being a better and more vocal ally to my Jewish friends - to all Jewish people - in these worrying times. This thread gives some great advice on how to do that effectively and with sensitivity.

Perhaps, but they could have waited to see what happened. The Guardian had the recordings almost immediately. I think that was foolish, because it looks opportunistic.

She can’t see any initial motivation for making the recording except prurience and opportunism. She’s not listening when people point out it’s a sensible thing that people actually do when concerned about potential DV.

Exactly. She’s been spouting some absolute nonsense. You can see when an intelligent person is struggling to defend an illogical position when they just double down on indefensible positions.

I personally agree the recording should not have been given to the media. There are two people involved, and a public interest argument only applies to one. You can argue that, though, without diminishing the seriousness of DV by using belittling language like ‘lover’s quarrel’

Alison doesn’t ‘believe’ she was screaming. So she hasn’t heard the recording. She’s just saying what she wants to be true. I have recorded couples having screaming arguments outside my house, just in case.

I remember childhood summers in Northern Ireland, still running around in actual daylight after 10pm. Magical.
