Apple’s device tree format used by Darwin isn’t compatible with the one used on Linux, no. And Apple doesn’t provide publicly standard Linux device trees. Vim already runs.

The planned custom iOS to allow anyone to use provided tools from checkra1n/PongoOS to later run Linux as shown and most likely for any dualboots later on. It will also have a kernel patcher module you’ll be able to use and whatever else they think will be useful.
