Thank you 😊 I can recommend this project with the most awesome international team so much 🥰 Open source can give you much more than you have to invest 💪

Nexus is a good point, and enterprises always disable diagnostic data, so estimating that usage is very hard. In-browser dev tool data might be a tentative indicator. One more thing: "…can clearly say … Angular"—in Germany! Also I noticed a "bias" in your (my previous) company.

Benchmarks are fine though when you want to measure your own code's performance over time. The same benchmark under the same conditions to track the progress made or detect when regressions are introduced.

Actually I feel the same way! I guess one can state one's feelings against both: Google's dominating acts (like AMP) and Apple's "active passiveness" on The Web's progression.

Leaving the WHAT aside and talking about the HOW: I somewhat appreciate the passion about a topic I have so many strong feelings myself. I wish more people would raise their voice for the open web, not fewer.

PS : Mule is kagge.

To a certain degree I'd like to not having to worry about parallelism at all. If our (widely used) libraries and frameworks were off-main-thread by default, that'd be a great win for the ecosystem already.

I agree. Working on the main thread is easy and totally accepted, working off-main-thread is not (compared to eg. Android). There are libraries (like 's Comlink) helping a lot but as a developer you really feel that concurrency is an afterthought in JS.

I agree, too. I guess snapshot testing may be fine though in rare cases, like for (very) dumb components which hardly ever change and with no external dependencies which may change.

It's high time we see performance not only as making things faster but making things _usable_ for large groups of populations. Watch 's talk and tell me how you can sleep at night.

Wow, really haven't thought about that. So I guess there's nothing you can do on the squoosh side then.. Thanks for the insight, anyway!

Love it! Any plans on supporting URLs, too? Use case: Right click on an image on the internet -> "copy image link" -> paste in squoosh -> squoosh keeps the file name! (Currently, if you want to keep the file name, you need to either download the image first or type it yourself.)

I absolutely ❤️ the idea. There are articles and videos by who shares his ideas and hopes of a Web community (and especially JS frameworks) using Workers for expensive calculations _by default_ instead of rarely. E.g. and
