bad takes central
I think that a lot of social interaction is designed to avoid interaction of real energy between the two people. You both tacitly agree that you don't want to engage in a fundamental way and so follow the (reliable) rules that do that. But real interaction is where the money is.

Here I am, demanding that you interact with me on a fundamental level. I can see why people would not like that, lol.

And the more cultural rules there are, the harder it is to be authentic. But the British and Japanese (in general) stay away from authenticity 'out of respect'. Often showing your true emotions is considered rude. I guess because someone else then has to deal with them...

If you see most people as irresponsible emotional actors (constantly pushing bad energy onto others) then it makes a lot of sense. Let's just keep this civility so I don't have to process your bullshit.

Real interaction is transformative and thus obliterative of current self. If you're attached to it that's scary. Also you don't know what you'll transform *into*. Double scary.

I guess that's it really. If you like obliteration, you'll like that kind of interaction. Otherwise you HATE it.

I don't think I'm at that level yet. Something to work towards.
