Today’s date is a palindrome in every single country in the world.
In China, it is 2020.02.02.
In the UK, it is 02.02.2020.
In the US, it is 02.02.2020.
At Long Now, it is 02.02.02020.
Why we use five digit dates: blog.longnow.org/02013/12/31/lo… #PalindromeDay

In the US at least, I'm pretty sure "fruit leather" is to "fruit roll-up" as "facial tisssue" is to "Kleenex"

Just curious: Would you anticipate equivalent benefits from working with people of other gender minorities in the field, similar benefits to a lesser degree, or none at all? For instance the thought experiment of an org structured as you discuss but in which all happen to be nb.

The pleasantness or unpleasantness of a bunch of items depends so much on the shape of the items though! Like square things are nicest in square numbers and worst in primes, 6 equilateral triangles go particularly well together, etc.

The number of slides that crashes the presentation tooling of your choice is too many.
Too many rapid slide content changes can be jarring, but small changes between many slides are just a low frame rate animation

Which Linux? I've often had Ubuntu work in presentation setup edge cases where others failed, several times have loaned laptop to another speaker when theirs wouldn't work...
Also practice at making it talk to random projectors is as important as practicing the talk itself :)

If you make 2 cuts in a cheesecake both parallel to its diameter, the slice between them is a taco.
If you do the same to a calzone, it becomes 2 quiches and a sushi.

Kinda funny how we call certain skills "executive function" even though in business they're the functions done by the executive's assistant...

I love diagrams when they're relevant and legible. Do these diagrams differ from architecture diagrams in that the latter has to have too many things to read or understand? I think the ones I like might be excerpts from the ones you hate...

As one of those people chatting with acquaintances and pretending to have fun in the Crowded Loud, I must point out that at a LOT of those conversations include expressions of the misery of how crowded and loud it is...
"seem" is very much the operative term.

Cut apart with scissors after printing would work better tho.
They'd be no worse a dexterity puzzle than regular pronoun stickers though those might not be too great for limited hand strength/mobility either. Some stickers from vendors are worse than just labels....

A good laser printer and some labels (either mini address labels or full page shipping labels that you cut apart after printing with scissors) are great for small quantities. Not all stickers have to come from vendors, especially if they only have to last a week or so

It depends on what climate the forest is in! Somewhere it snows a lot I'd want to be a conifer or I'd break; somewhere hot and dry I'd probably go for that baobab-looking thing with a lot more trunk than leaves...

If it's any consolation, that's a thing I know I could do if I needed to, yet articulating how I know I could and how I actually would go about doing it is comparably puzzling... Like the childhood writing prompt of explaining how to make a PBJ sandwich in extreme detail

I've never heard it but if I did I would assume that they meant to call it a female dog and then decided the present company was too polite for that so they backpedaled to just dog real quick.
