Ah, okay. Maybe it's because I only get like one a month ;) But no, I have only gotten one ever that was basically "I need you to write me a book report of your book that I didn't read" and I kindly referred that person to the flap copy on my website ;)

The GIF part or the "I love the letters" part? :) All the writers agree with the GIF part! *cue endless wailing*

I have fake "hard wood" floor in the kitchen and all the cabinets had shitty veneer paper on them which my cats literally managed to pull off and in Moo's case try to eat. So expensive. So not good :/

Yeah. My rent is actually going up again this month. I try not to think about it because when I do it makes me anxious. But the fact landlords can charge what they do for places that aren't even good is really vexing.

This is pretty much my pad. I call the style "1970s suburban hellhole"

Wow if you guys got rid of 80% of your politicians and 95% of the snow, it seems like it'd be pretty good there :)

I am so tired of tweeting this but universal healthcare is not "utopian" it is the only practical, humane, cost-effective way to do medicine

But I love how lawyers and professors like to make this issue feel so academic. As someone who has rolled people in body bags who were un/underinsured and died from preventable and curable illnesses, let me just remind you that PEOPLE. ARE. DYING.

I guess if your argument is that drug choice will be limited because Company X will choose to go out of business rather than accept lower profits, then okay. But all the drug companies I know are run by greedy shitlords, and even to them some money is better than no money.

A single-payer is the ULTIMATE negotiator. When Company X says they're going to charge $900 for a drug that costs $20 to make, the single-payer, who now covers 95% of the population (except rich self payers) can tell them they can charge $50 or else lose 95% of their client base.

My sister routinely has like 7000+ emails in her inbox. And sure 6800 of them are probably worthless spam, but, uh, how do you not lose the important stuff? I allow myself ONE SCREEN.

At the same time, I sometimes reply quickly just because I don't like to keep more than 20 or so "pending" emails in my inbox. But if you're one of the twenty, I might just let you sink lower and lower for quite a while ;D

Like if I found a perfect Alaska vacation package but you had to book in the next 4 days to get it, I'd email you TIME SENSITIVE--July Alaska Cruise or whatever. But otherwise, live your lives, people ;)

I literally type TIME SENSITIVE--[enter subject here] if I need a reply back in a day or two, and that's usually I'm trying to set up an author event or panel and want people to say if they're interested so I can find participants by a deadline. Otherwise, take a month, IDC :)

All that does is give people the sense that they can email you and expect you'll drop everything to reply. My agent will reply in 5 minutes a lot because she's Very Online, but then when she doesn't, I have to remind myself that it's fine and she doesn't owe me a superfast reply.
