This report highlights the shocking figures that cloud the reality of navigating academia as a Black student. In three years only 1.2% of funded PhDs went to Black students! & only 30 out of 19k+ of these students were Black Caribbean! 30

One activity I used to do with my students was ask them to identify all the elements of prison. I’d write them on individual sheets of paper. Then I’d ask them to re-form the prison based on the elements they’d identified. Always led to great discussion.
