I wonder if the kids of that "only speak to them in full sentences" guy have graduated from university yet?

Post every single time. Every. Single. Time. And without bashfulness. You didn't write a book so that no one would read it, after all.

"Rugged? American football? ... I just think it's rather odd that a nation that prides itself on its virility should feel compelled to strap on forty pounds of protective gear in order to play rugby." Giles, in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Season 2, Episode 2.

My view precisely. My students are quite capable of dealing with a diversity of political views.

I hear people say that professors shouldn't share their political views with their students, but what they really mean is "professors shouldn't share political views I don't approve of with their students."

Hi, Sheryl
The student presentations themselves aren't on-line, but the service files of 620,000 CEF personnel are through @LibraryArchives. It's an extraordinary resource. In addition the @CWGC website lists the burial locations of 1.7 million Commonwealth personnel.

My colleague @K_Pasierbek and I worked out that both @daniel_todman and @ProfGSheffield retweeted this, which is ironic: Todman and Sheffield were the assigned readings for the day, but we didn't have time to discuss them! (Next time!) twitter.com/ProfessorBroad…

Great stuff. This was what we called a "surface level" biography. Each of the students will be producing a much lengthier and more thorough biography of another person, that they will present, graveside, or at some suitable location, when we are overseas.

We noted that about Blanchard – he attested the month the US declared war. Good discussion of border communities as per Brandon Dimmel's fine book ubcpress.ca/brandon-dimmel

We can't wait to get this extraordinary group of students overseas. We'll make a point of paying our respects to Booth, Apps, Robertson, Akiyama, and Blanchford when we're there.

And then was William Booth, buried in Cabaret Rouge Cemetery (despite his file indicating that he was missing), and whose service file says little. It is very probable that no one has spoken his name in decades. pic.twitter.com/n00upESbcM
