"The loophole is relatively easy to close and it is shocking that three years after this case was argued at the Supreme Court, we are only now seeing legislative change, and only after two private member's bills forced the issue." - Me

I'm surprised to see that the bestiality legislation doesn't give courts the ability to ban animal ownership for those convicted of sexually abusing animals—this is standard for other animal cruelty offences. We will push to amend this at committee.

Earlier this year, saved 36 dogs, found stuffed in bags, minutes away from being sold & killed for their meat. After a 4 month long court battle has been given permanent custody of the dogs! Soon, they'll be ready for their new homes:

This simple change took two years of fighting with Trudeau to accomplish. I tabled a private members bill, asked numerous questions in the House, and over 8000 of you signed a petition asking for this change. Big thank you to and others for their hard work.

BREAKING: Nearly three years after we fought in the Supreme Court, the federal government introduced legislation to close the disturbing bestiality loophole. Good, but not enough.

Eastern hog-nosed snakes, like this beauty who was recently brought to TWC, are a non-venomous species at risk in Ontario. these snakes specialize in hunting and eating toads?! Dry forests & sandy banks are their favourite spots to hunt, lay their eggs and hibernate!

This beautiful red-bellied woodpecker was suffering from ulcers in both eyes and a fracture in her left wing. Sadly, the poor bird was another window strike victim. She’s now receiving treatment at TWC. Once she’s healthy and strong again, she’ll be released back to the wild!

It's still legal in Ontario to tie up dogs outside, even in hot and cold weather. We're grateful to all those pushing for change!
