Yeah we're actually right in the middle of polishing the API for using navigation in the upcoming open source library, so we'll take a look at this soon. DM us if you'd like a peek at the private repo we are working on...

Ah interesting, it may just be that we haven't tested those situations yet. We should stress test it more. A lot of bugs have been fixed in NavigationView/NavigationLink recently too, so things may be better now.

It is possible, but it takes some work to get the ergonomics right. You should be able to use the NavigationLink initializers that take isActive/selection bindings to drive navigation off the state of your app. Did you try anything like that?

I missed the Harry Potter, Star Wars, LOTR, et al trains—but, I’m guessing this is what it felt like.

A few weeks ago we posted a teaser for a new project we began working on, and we now have more to share. We are writing a book on Composable Architecture, and we'd like to share the preface to give you an idea of what it's about. We hope you enjoy!

This week we finish making the Composable Architecture adaptable. Next week we show the power of this by adapting our iOS application to support macOS. Doing so will make the business logic agnostic and the view logic specific. Until then, catch up here:

This week we decouple the actions of our app's business logic from the actions of our app's UI, which let us generalize the core logic and make our UI more specific! We even prevent our UI from invoking actions it shouldn't have access to! Learn more:

Let us know how you feel after next week, and maybe a GH issue can be created to explore alternatives.

Yeah we've struggled with it, but after having fought against it for a looong time we are pretty convinced it is necessary. We'd love to be proven wrong, but each attempt to consolidate has failed so far 😔

The library is really shaping up. The ability to get a stream of diffs in the console showing how your application's state changes over time is 🤯 I'm very excited about the upcoming release...

From my point of view, the last two episodes answer the “what’s the point?” question for the composable architecture. It feels like all the pieces of the puzzle finally fit together. SVVS 👌
