I love paying $500 for a conference then listening to every speaker talk about how they slapped the talk together at the last minute. It’s great actually.

thanks. lost a few hours sleep but the desk on check-out were helpful. next time at check-in I’ll double check there’s nothing going on before talking about rooms!

i like it- do you have examples anywhere/anything I could take a look at pls? also trying to get a good feel for a kind of meta structure rather than random docs that have overlapping concerns

if anyone works somewhere with documented processes/policies etc. and you think they’re documented *well* I’d love to hear from you/see some examples, what makes them useful etc.

The PC was a general-purpose computer that replaced single-purpose devices - everything from word processors to adding machines to editing bays. Now it’s the PC that’s the single-purpose device. There’s that one thing you need it for that you can’t do on a phone or tablet.

any chance your travel insurance covers being unable to sleep because the hotel has an event on practically outside the bedroom window? Thanks

Without having any metrics and data, your app is lightning fast and extremely slow at the same time. I call it Schrödingers Performance.

2/ i feel like my time is undervalued if people start with 15mins of speaker background or say that they’re going to wing it (except for the rare speaker I’d be happy to just hear stories from all day long)

1/ From my limited experience at tech conferences I think plenty of people under-prepare; it’s definitely a hard job to make something persuasive and engaging but I think sitting down to write an essay of what you *actually* want to convince people of is a good way to start

and feel like there's a misconception that because aws offer the blocks its worth you assembling them rather than looking for the product that encompasses the required capability by default
