...tons of mods, some of which introduce rules and game modes not part of the original. It’s a true sandbox: you’re given some raw materials but you supply the goals and story. You can mold the game as you like. Even more so if you’re willing to learn some JavaScript.

Less for gameplay than the overall structure: Minecraft. In the original there was no clear goal. You just explored and built as you saw fit. If you “win” by killing the dragon, it just rolls the credits and spawns you back where you started. People have also created ...

I’m not sure if there’s anything to the Biden story. If there is, then it’s worth investigating.
But I gotta say, I’m not buying the picture of Trump as some anti-corruption crusader. It doesn’t jibe with everything else we know about him.

...anti-corruption efforts then they would only strengthen his position.
But now imagine that the Biden narrative is a smoke screen. That Trump’s motivation in holding up the Ukrainian aid was a political maneuver to manipulate US elections. In that case, wouldn’t you expect...

I don’t know what Biden did. I am curious.
Let’s imagine that Biden was actually corrupt and that Trump was interested in trying to uncover the truth when dealing with Ukraine. If that’s the case, then why not release all the White House records? If they reflect Trump’s...

They color our view of the world, but in a way that draws upon our deep desire for group belonging and survival. And at that level we’re all little more than apes who will fling feces at the other team even if doing so covers us in excrement as well. 4/4

That’s the outcome that can’t be tolerated. That’s the outcome that must be resisted even in the face of cooler heads and common sense. That’s how ideologies work. 3/4

...the very worst outcome. Not because of any high minded ideological reason, for calling witnesses doesn’t determine the trial’s outcome—after all, the republicans still control the senate. No, calling witnesses means “they” win and “we” lose. 2/4

The decision re: witnesses in Trump’s impeachment illustrates the high levels of partisan polarization in the US. In other contexts, getting more evidence before a decision is common sense. But here, caing witnessed feels like a loss for republicans. And losing is... 1/4

They show up in philosophy of religion, unsurprisingly in arguments for the existence of (usually the Judeo-Christian) god.

In my experience this is definitely true. I think “old guard” epistemologists would say that feminist authors are writing in a decidedly interested mode, and that traditional/mainstream epistemology is “more general in scope”.
(For the record, this isn’t my view.)

The bows are pretty fun. Subtle Calamity is one that should be pretty easy to get since it can drop from most any activity. Arsenic Bite is similar.
There is one heavy ammo bow that you can get via a quest but the last step might be difficult if you don’t have backup.

Not sure about “most well known” or who exactly is a “leftist”, but I’d expect Noam Chomsky to be near the top of any such list.
Maybe sort of cheating (?) since the MIT department was originally “language and linguistics” but later became “linguistics and philosophy.”
