Fabo Feng is an exoplanet explorer, but he can't jump on a spaceship to discover planets in person.
In this new #PostdocSpotlight, Feng explains how he finds exoplanets, why he thinks this research is important, and gives advice to young scientists.

Some patients with Wuhan coronavirus only show mild symptoms. “We have seen patients, especially children, who have pneumonia, but have no symptoms, no fever or cough,” says Yuen Kwok-yung, a microbiologist at the University of Hong Kong ti.me/37BCq4c pic.twitter.com/OkWPidMDCH

“The difficulty is not to muster evidence. The difficulty is rather the opposite: that the evidence is everywhere.”

My calculation is based on Fig. 11 of arxiv.org/pdf/1708.02981…
I think it is unlikely to tidally locked. Of course, a detailed study is needed to confirm this.

Are there more STARS than SAND grains on Earth? Add all the beaches, deserts & sand stuck in car mats:
10 million trillion GRAINS (10¹⁹) vs 100 billion trillion STARS (10²³). For every grain of sand there are ~1000 stars. A handful of sand represents 10s of millions of stars!! pic.twitter.com/akS68QXvYA

After the publication of our recent paper, I began to realize the significance of some of these exoplanets, GJ 433d is the nearest and coldest Neptune-like planet, GJ180d is the nearest temperate super-Earth to us that is not tidally locked to its star.
