An off-duty Prince George's County police officer was killed Wednesday morning after a neighbor being threatened by her estranged husband asked for the officer's help and the man shot him, police say.

At about 1:25pm, we received a call for a man found outside in a wooded area unresponsive. The fire department responded and pronounced him dead on the scene. This is being handled and as a death investigation at this time.
