Pa's children do not need a photo op with . They needed him to fiercely advocate for their healthcare long ago. He should fight FOR them, not use children’s coverage and the financial integrity of our pediatric health system as bargaining chips.

This hurts everyone. States where the people have decided to legalize need certainty. Only changing federal law can do that. Support candidates like and who have pledged to get this done!

If you think with the federal government making medical marijuana illegal, there are Congressional candidates who agree: and have all come out strongly in support of changing the law!

"it’s “reprehensible” that Pennsylvania’s 18-member House delegation is all-male, which she believes neuters the state’s representatives in effectively fighting the so-called Republican war on women."

As a scientist and mom, I know progress is made by hearing people's stories first-hand, looking at the evidence and the hard work of collaboration. I am ready to bring my empathetic problem-solving approach to Congress where is sorely needed.

We need political action, but long-lasting change will come from within our communities, by truly integrating them. This , I am hopeful recent deep discomfort and fear has motivated many to open our worlds, though realistic that it will be difficult and require work.

It's important to remember that was a realist. He dreamed of a better future for black and brown children, but knew there was a struggle ahead. He knew there was no smooth path and that societal change doesn't happen with the signing of a bill.

"In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends." - reminds us that racial privilege comes at the expense of others, silence is complicit, & the necessary radical change to combat racism will be deeply uncomfortable.

They are amazing children I was fortunate to work with in Uganda. They even put on plays about the dangers of climate change to educate their parents to reduce carbon use. They love our shared planet and humanity without hesitation.

With the hope of Martin Luther King, Jr's birthday upon us, we must commit to sacrifice the privilege that comes with whiteness and uproot these systems for the betterment of all humanity.

Trump’s comments are supremely tragic because they do not exist alone. Condemning his words are a small step towards the radical systemic changes we need throughout America to truly love black and brown people.

This tragedy does not begin nor end with these comments, for they are a blip on the timeline of continual disregard for black and brown people at home and abroad. This tragedy does not begin nor end with Trump. He is part of a seemingly endless list of enablers (inc )

I have been contemplating how to respond to Trump’s “shithole” countries comment. I know it’s necessary to speak out against such bigotry, yet my words will be inadequate. There are not strong enough words to properly condemn the dehumanization of the black world.

Yes! I've taken the pledge. I fully support moving to 100% green energy, removing corporate interests from our campaigns, and halting construction of the pipeline.
