I thought so! And email autoresponders, drip campaigns, auto-tagging marketing sources were all possible IIRC, right?

Thanks for the link! And congrats on finishing your book - the first draft, I assume. That's huge! Can't wait to read about the star trek economy and the law. Qap'lah!

Tell me more about the story grid. Sounds intriguing. Like Blake Snyder's Save the Cat Beat Sheet for Screenplays. Sorry. Out of left field reference there. Thinking aloud.

Hey. Quick question: does lawmatics have a client self-schedule option, a la Calendly?

I played "I'm a gummy bear" (kid's song) for my daughter In Klingon yesterday. Do I qualify as nerdy enough? Qap'lah!

No, I mean I had no idea that you weren't supposed to use spaces. Microsoft Word made me do it [space hyphen hyphen space]. :-)

And Grow may/may not prove to be "it." Avvo Ingite did a lot of this as of a few years ago, but was $$$ and abandonware. Other CRMs aren't legal-focused. Lawmatics was interesting. But as a Clio user, I figured I'd start with Lexicata-now-Grow.

One more thing: there's the email automation aspect. Big trick to inside sales research (what we really do when leads call and we convert them to client - it's sales ... icky I know): contact within five minutes (auto-email), follow up five times.

Of course, all of that is dependent on this being set up properly: from ads, to landing pages that effectively convert and track, to the CRM (Clio Grow).

Let's say I drop $1k/month on Google Ads (PPC) and $1k on Facebook ads because social is the new hotness, of course. If I track where my leads come from and I get 20 clients off google but flakes and spam off FB leads, I can use that 1k from FB next month on Google PPC.

Good question. That's where the ROI tracking comes into play. If you're doing paid advertising, or free advertising that takes time, effectively tracking where clients come from is invaluable. Simple example (continued):

Also, from my time managing a marketing dept of a law firm: the less you rely on clients or staff to gather the "where did you hear about us" part, the more accurate it is. Auto-tagging of sources and reporting of leads by source is huge for ROI tracking.

For me, there are two features that would save time over spreadsheets/other old-fashioned ways of doing things: 1) The form builders that import data into clio custom fields for doc automation 2) CRM/email autoresponders/automation > remembering to paste template emails
