Hello, I'm a startup investor. You may know me from my greatest hits, including "What does your company actually do?", "Do you know anyone who wants that?", and "I'm sorry, but I don't know anyone who wants to be your technical cofounder."

LOL. Serious question - if you mostly take warm intros, why does this happen? I thought the point of the warm intro was to filter for this?

What I’ve seen from Startup School is that it isn’t wise to start a company with someone you’ve just met, but what if you’re not a technical founder and you don’t have past relationships with technical people? I haven’t seen this talked about much.

What if you’re the technical cofounder, how do I find my mate?

Work with other people on projects (that are not meant to be the startup). And more generally, get out of the house: go to meetups and hackathons etc.
