Thank you! Yes, he was so very relaxed about it all. He never let it get him down. I only hope I can be so peaceful when my time comes.

Thanks Steve. Yeah, our county hadn't won it in nearly 30 years at that point and we were willing them to win it before he died. That was his Super Bowl/European Cup/World Cup rolled into one. He wouldn't have sold me for it, but he'd have thought about it.

Thanks Meike. Yeah, a tough couple of months. The anniversay of his death is in July and my sister is getting married in August so it's a long one! He had a lot of time to prepare so that was something at least.

Thank you so much. He was a good dude and he took the whole cancer thing in his stride. I hope I'm that zen when my time comes.

It's Father's Day in Ireland, but sadly, my Dad died last year from cancer. Here we are towards the end of his life with the Liam McCarthy Cup, the top prize in the Irish sport of hurling. I had about two hours of boozy sleep, but Dad was massively stoked.

Naw, I do 90% of my reading on my Kindle. My wife still reads paperbacks. There is nothing holy or special about paper. It's just another tool for delivering stories.

It's 'shoulderS'. At one time there was some confusion and people thought 'shoulder' was correct, but that's not the case. It's always shoulders plural.

I miss my dad. Tracing our time together gives me comfort when I can't sleep. ❤️ for publishing ‘Time is the Most Used Noun’. I want everyone to know what a super guy he was.

Ha! Oh man, Lynx Africa and cheap cider* are my main olfactory memories from that epoch. *The kind you can clean antiques and car engines with.
