“The Ukraine Story” is Patient Zero of the next false-equivalence epidemic. It’s worth noting this in real time (and trying to contain it). By me

TRUMP: I did it PELOSI: These troubling allegations must be investigated TRUMP: No, it was me PELOSI: This raises more questions and I won't rest until we get to the bottom of it TRUMP: I broke the law PELOSI: We will collect all the facts and determine if any law was broken

Yes, Pelosi's cowardice is terrible but let's not forget that even with this new devastating beyond-Watergate evidence of Trump's abuses of power, NOT ONE American newspaper has called upon the president to resign. It's time for the media to step up to the plate

This is absolutely insane. We have lifelong conservatives writing pieces about how Trump should be impeached and ’s advisers are still telling reporters they refuse to hold the President accountable. This is pathetic. This is not what we worked so hard for in 2018

. says there‘s no action on guns because Democrats aren’t doing enough. The House passed bills to allow background checks, a Red Flag law, a high capacity magazine ban, and to close the Charleston loophole. All he has to do is tell to allow a vote.

What are you doing right now? Remember it. For the rest of your life that will be the answer when you're asked what you did when the President of the United States solicited an attack on America.

This is *not* true. Public support for removing Nixon was below 20 percent when the Senate began hearings, and didn't cross 50 percent until summer of '74. If Dems want a consensus on impeachment, they need to *argue* for it and *create* one.

"The Republican Party, as an institution, has become a danger to the rule of law and the integrity of our democracy. The problem is not just Donald Trump; it’s the larger political apparatus that made a conscious decision to enable him."

Dems need to learn from mistakes in Russia investigation on two fronts 1) Excessive focus on specific statutory elements, rather than impeachable violations, 2) spending all their time chasing secondary documentation (like Mueller redactions) rather than original source material

The funniest thing about Trump defenders is the way he regularly undercuts their arguments on his behalf and throws them under the bus, often in real time:

Congress should make clear that if the White House stonewalls on the transcripts, it will treat the president's statements as confirmation that press reports are accurate and proceed on that basis. If WH wishes to correct or dispute that record, it can provide the transcripts.

America 2019, where the president's child-sex-trafficking bestie gets pushed out of the news by the president's racism which gets pushed out by the president's blackout-drunk rapist judge which gets pushed out by the president's abuse of power and foreign-policy-by-extortion

Democrats who have been dragging their feet are the obvious ones who need to hear from their own constituents on this. But Democrats in favor could use the support, too. Even Republicans who oppose it will be effected by calls *from constituents* taking a clear stand on this.

Remember when the GOP pretended Hillary’s emails were a national security threat and the media took the bait and reported on it nonstop and then Ivanka got caught using personal email for gov’t biz and literally no one Republican said a word BECAUSE IT WAS NEVER A REAL CONCERN?

Cus is a lost cause? Many of us are misplacing our hope that and the actually care about the rule of law and this country, but they're not upholding their oaths. We already know Rs don't care. But now looking like Ds don't either. We had a promising run.
