One stat that sticks with me from this convo: the value of a single Salesforce customer ($ individual customers spend on Salesforce product) has grown 15% / year since IPO...bonkers twitter.com/patrick_oshag/…

Dude is bright. Just realized I've caught him on 20VC, Acquired, and Venture Stories as well. Much respect for anyone like him putting so many valuable insights out there via podcasts, looking forward to the episode.

I find it incredible how software that is so much hated by the end users can be so successful. SAP is similar. And why isn’t competition roasting those guys?

Extremely high and expanding switching costs (adding services/using data), both monetary and opportunity. Could even be argued that it’s more resource intensive than switching costs related to quitting smoking. Incredible business.

Haven’t listen yet and excited to due so. Those SF guys are sneaky, always up selling add-on’s and each new feature (acquisition) is extra, plus pricing is illusive. It’s super hard for mid to large enterprises to migrate off as well.
