How long are you requiring children to fast before proc sedation? at suggests 2 hours is the most conservative approach, no fasting is ok too!

I don’t like vomiting, don’t like seeing my kids vomit, so wonder whether it’s worth the ~17 hr sooner resolution... I would be more convinced if I saw that it decreased *serious* adverse events (admission, pneumonia etc.)

Day 2 PM (Peds) Highlights: 1. Tamiflu decreases length of flu sx. ~17h (more vomiting!) 2. TWIST score > 4 gives LR+ >16 for test. torsion 3. UA for UTI in febrile infants < 60 days - Any of: LE+, nitrite+, > 5 WBCs/HPF gives LR+ 10; absence of all 3 gives LR- 0.06

Thanks for those numbers ! Probably MORE important to make sure that your patients know the signs and symptoms of DVT/PE so that they return for re-evaluation in the event of progression to VTE
