Gender normative views of home task roles can lead to women using non work time to do childcare and house care while men use it mainly for leisure. Seems women aren’t great at respecting our physical & mental health.

Please think about your packaging and the planet Trousers just delivered in a box 6 times the size it needed to be... and a plastic bag inside the box. Totally unnecessary materials and transport costs...

“Fight the culture that encourages secret parenting by … not parenting secretly.” Expecting Better by is the only book on pregnancy I ever recommend to first timers, so great to hear her take on working parenthood

Yes! There is no one answer to the happiest and most productive way to work - people need to be trusted to find their own optimal way. What do you think of asking employees to ‘be their own CEO’?

Remember (presumably) you will also be *paid* part time! Yes talk about what you can offer, and give ideas for what can happen to the rest of your workload... but also remember you’re offering a saving on their overhead budget. Especially for SMEs this can be important!

Brilliant graphic by ! "Normalising and supporting flexible working and parental leave for men is so important to building a gender diverse workforce. When you can't assume which candidate will seek out a caring role then everyone benefits."

Such a good article - was aware of both mental load and decision fatigue but hadn’t quite twigged how intrinsically linked they are :-)

"Without a powerful woman at the helm, one of the world's greatest matriarchal businesses became like every other patriarchal global high street chain. Boring. It was as if everything she had ever said was ignored. Especially on ageing."

My husband does way more of the parenting in our house (while I work my arse off at my job)... AND I still define myself as ‘lucky’ (and other people refer to me as lucky). And still find myself apologising for random household things not done...

If it’s on or in something random, it’s definitely the cat. I learnt this the hard way with Tansy and expensive handbags

When I was a kid, The Luck of the Lynns by Roger Lancelyn Green... in grown-up life The Black Company books by Glenn Cook - which definitely donated some dna to Game of Thrones :-)

Big question for the marketing and foodie people on my Twitter! Which are the premium food (and drink) brands you really admire? Who’ve really nailed growing fast without compromising on price or quality.

“MPs have passed a motion making the UK parliament the first in the world to declare an “environment and climate emergency”. Historic and very hopeful news. Now other nations must follow. And words must turn into immediate action.
