The 3.5% movements which have worked have been quite reliant on a much larger % of the population passively agreeing and nodding along... which means they have had a v clear message + an inclusive outreach plan... not sure which movements out there at the mo could achieve that?

Just had a thought... what if everyone who benefited from donated even *half* the £10 they saved to the local food bank... it shouldn’t have to work like this, but it would give something back to the people who need it most...

Been thinking a lot about how the govt is giving meal subsidies and discounts of upto £10 to people who can already afford to eat out, but they didn’t want to give meal vouchers for starving and impoverished children. Not sure if I am surprised or shocked. Just sad.

Ours have said they have a plan but don’t want to share til they’re reasonably sure what’s happening in terms of bubbles Vs going back to normal - hard either way for the kids (if there is a plan and it changes *and* if uncertain what moving up looks like)

Wear a mask. It’s easy. It’s harmless. It shows you care about others and during this pandemic it might just save someone’s life

The obvious question is... if the govt know Brexit is going to have such a negative impact in Jan that they need a major ‘shock and awe’ ad campaign to get the public to prepare for it... why the blithering feck are we still doing it?

know you’ll be behind this. it should not have to be said that this level of child poverty is not ok in a first world country in 2020. And storing up yet more of the inequality that is serving us so badly right now..

Noticed this in waitrose at the weekend. Also their promotional aisle was *stacks* of pasta and tinned toms. Can’t work out whether they’re anticipating a new wave of stockpiling or simply orders that went in to suppliers 2/3 mo ago during the first one!
