I dropped out of an expensive elite but but not particularly prestigious private college and I happily admit that among the things I dislike about Mayor Pete is that he reminds me of why I hated it

not entirely that they wish their children were Pete but that they wish to be absolved of responsibility for the world their non-Pete children inherited, and look he turned out great

The guy who ran Harvard Law's admissions from 2005-2008 spent the next 10 years at a conservative think tank. He's now launched a right-wing media outlet. Gotta wonder how his ideology impacted the makeup of a law school that serves as a major pipeline for the legal elite

I imagine the people leaning toward him are imagining him on stage with Trump and the "contrast" in their styles and then not doing a very deep analysis beyond that

This is happening because one segment of the electorate (and pundit class) sees a person very easily caricatured as "smug College Boy who thinks he's better than you" and thinks "'regular people' will like him because he's so smart."

Because of the Ukraine focus, we're kind of looking through a keyhole, but it feels like we're getting a very disturbing glimpse into the broad structure of how the Trump administration runs.
