Question: we're examining what a Contacts API📲 (with permissions or picker) for the web would look like. Anyone have thoughts on what serialized format the contact data would take when we pass data back to developer? Is it vCard? Something else? 🙋‍♂️

Have you considered GraphQL? At the very least, JSON should be a requirement.

I think the Mozilla people did a bunch of work on this a while back? It didn't get approved though. That would seem to be a good place to start from? You doubtless already know this, mind.

You could always look at the contacts API Mozilla developed for Firefox OS:

vCard for interop, JSON for everything else. Not sure if is a JSON equivalent of a vCard, but maybe it's a start. And happy to hear there's work being done on this API.

Also sure you know this but other browsers have work on this: • Firefox OS: • Windows UWP: I hope it'll be closer to Firefox OS' implementation :)
