Breaking/ just tried to ban certain national newspapers from a Number 10 briefing. This is truly sinister stuff. Hats off to the BBC, ITV, Mail, Telegraph & Times for walking out too in protest, rather than let him get away with it.

do an excellent job of explaining the railway and what goes wrong/right with it. Knowing what's going on and why is always better than being frustrated with no information.

Some cracking lines in this. "But Dyson basically does things that blow or suck, doesn’t he? Maybe that’s why he was drawn to Brexit." "Remember: always take business advice from journalists, the runaway market leaders in the poorly managed decline sector."

Well, Auld Lang Syne and Ode to Joy bemused the Eagle briefly, and that's it. The end. Fin. If only, perhaps, for a little while.

I'm finding it amusing that everyone is talking about the end of a television programme I've never even heard of! Normally I have at least some consciousness of the cultural wossname.

I've long thought in the modern era public service broadcasting should be funded by a broadband levy.
