Today the CWBF hosted a major workshop to discuss and management of the Budai Salt Flats in Chaiyi County. Sections of it, the most important site in for wintering migratory , are slated for green energy projects.

June saw the launch of the exciting Mongolia Cuckoo Project (supported by OBC), during which the researchers were able to satellite tag an Oriental Cuckoo! This is a world first, and its migration will be of high interest to science! 😃🇲🇳

We've recently funded a survey of (globally vulnerable) Wood Snipe in Nepal. The species is sparsely distributed, breeding in alpine meadows. The project encourages local people to look out for the snipe and protect them, especially in the Goshainkunda area. 🇳🇵🤝

It's mid-June and the ORIENTAL CUCKOO (named "Nomad") is still migrating north... he's now moved 1,625 km NNW from Khurkh, Mongolia, since being fitted with his tag.
