What is the point you are trying to make here? What you’re saying doesn’t change the fact that people are voting for someone that they don’t agree with in order to gain power.

Did you click through and read what was there? It talks about conservatism as a system that does not protect everyone or hold people accountable equally. So, yeah... I believe we should do exactly the opposite of that.

Sorry if this comes off as rude, but um... what alternate plan are you offering alongside these criticisms? You are absolutely entitled to feel disappointed, but that doesn’t change the state of the world and the very real danger our current admin poses.

This is not the time to start tearing each other down. It is time to listen to what the people around you need, and start strategizing on how to achieve it. The election is just one step -- not necessarily the first one, and DEFINITELY not the last one.

The potential for something great to come from it is actually up to us. We as a nation are more powerful than one, two, or a handful of people. It's all about how we organize and wield that power.

I think we are learning in this dumpster fire blazing around us right now that agitation can indeed lead to action. But it also matters how we go about it. There's so much work to do on the other side of this election (assuming it happens), regardless of who were to win.

Do I hate the fact that neither Trump nor Biden seem to have the cultural awareness they should about other people? Hell yes. Do I look at Harris' track record in CA and raise my eyebrows? Um... yeah. But is casting a vote this November a lost cause? Absolutely not.

When I think about the situation today, I realize that it's far more dangerous to myself and the entire world to opt out and effectively be complicit in allowing Trump to continue terrorizing us.

When I look at this thread now, I can see that my emotions were locking me into binary thinking. This is a natural human response, btw. I've since come to learn that either/or thoughts are a flag for me to check myself, a moment to push me to examine the spectrum in between.

I actually want to dig up an old tweet of mine as a teachable moment. I was in my feels that day. I still feel strongly about the points re: "flavors of oppression," but I think it's important to show how perspectives can evolve.

With today's running mate announcement, this is your friendly reminder that criticism is perfectly acceptable and encouraged. Opting out of this election is not. Get on the bus and communicate your needs. If you want to stay on the sidewalk, then you can watch us drive on by...

Really fantastic role working on social justice at Microsoft with a Black woman leader. I make no money on this at all, so please do share just for reach.

In my dream world, the Biden campaign nominates their whole cabinet instead of just VP and DNC is dedicated to exposing stories of how people are experiencing this moment and each speaker dedicated to discussing how they would fix/repair/reimagine the country.
