Why not both! Have the meeting in person but also accept testimony via zoom!

Truly amazing how the vast majority of people testifying at this hearing are women. I wish I had counted speaker by speaker. Women make the world go round.

We never worked with them but if I remember correctly they gave some money when we organized buses to go to the city to protest the war (before it started).

I love municipal politics and they are a lot easier to love from the comfort of my couch, if I’m being 100

We are always going to have public meetings and hearings on zoom now right? It allows for so much greater public participation. People can be home with their families, making and eating dinner, while watching and waiting to testify. Let’s keep this forever please.

Glad to hear a teacher testifying that we can’t expect students to achieve what they normally would this year. We just can’t expect it. We need to plan to ensure students can make up what they lose this year. There’s no other way.

This schools shit is so hard. I don’t envy anyone who is responsible for figuring out how to do this, or for the teachers, students, and parents who actually have to do it. There are no good answers. I think the priority has to be health.

Happy to hear talk about advocating with our federal representatives to get the money we are going to need to educate students this year. PPE isn’t free.

Councilor made a really good point earlier during this BPS discussion: more people tested positive in Boston yesterday than the day before Walsh closed schools (ultimately for the year) in March. The second wave could be worse than the first. This plan is science based?

I thought the bail fund would only bail out the peaceful protestors who were advocating for abolition which I do not support
