Aren't there some constitutional amendments (in the first ten) that deal with unreasonable search and seizure, and your ability to not be forced to testify against yourself? I'm pretty sure I heard about something like that...law.cornell.edu/wex/fourth_ame…

If I recall correctly it’s also been interpreted as applying to all people, not just citizens.
