Unfortunate result in this case. The transfer bylaws are designed to give an advantage to public schools over private schools. Court should’ve recognized that as a quasi-public entity, OHSAA has a responsibility to treat all members equally.

We agree with that Senate Bill 221 should have its veto overridden by the Senate and House. Too many instances of departments using "policy" to circumvent the rulemaking process and muddying the waters for stakeholders.

Inaccurate to say students don't have to "show academic competence in any subject to graduate," or that in the past, no "demonstration of academy competency was required for graduation." Now, as then, it doesn't have to be in your preferred method, which is a standardized test.

There are some OAIS schools that don't offer "AP courses" already, and haven't for a while. Students are free to take the AP tests if they wish, but the schools' classes don't follow the AP course curriculum.

The tone-deaf quote provided by here is stunning. Nothing addressing schools' concerns about tests driving curriculum choices, or the overemphasis on tests. Apparently saving money should be the overriding concern of educators. Disturbing.

Senate Education Committee kicking off now! SB 241 is fourth on the agenda. Written testimony is available online, and much of it is misleading if not downright false.
