NYT Opinion
Barack Obama's failure to stand up for Iran's protestors in 2009 — a position currently being repeated by many Western liberals — is based on a deeply misguided premise that the regime can be reformed. It can't.
Staying quiet is based on the false premise that the regime can be moderated. It can’t.

If the military (not the revolutionary guard )back the reform movement it has a possibility of success. There are no close nations to support the current regime except Russia who for most of history wanted a warm water port

Voice of Mar a Lago once again doing Trump’s bidding. WTF NYT? Think about why Trump wants to destabilize that region and who it benefits. Everything Trump does has an ulterior motive, you just have to get off your ass to look for it.

In 2009, I recall protesting Iranians telling Americans to stay out of their national debate & fight.

But it was Obama, Rhodes, Rice & Powers that said "reformers" were already in power in Iran. "Moderates" were in charge.

The mullahs and Islamic fundamentalists running Iran are the ones destabilizing the region Hugo. Sending money and soldiers to wars in Yemen, Syria, and Iraq. Get. A. Fucking. Clue.

Obama was clearly pro the terrorist regime, not the people of Iran. Gave them millions to kill his fellow Americans with. Do you know what that makes him?
