My surprise said it had already had 149 documents - searched every avenue I could find but couldn't locate anything except records of scripts. Opted out, but will go back later & join up for just for a second try

This morning I think it was, I saw a tweet with a pic of a medical scan or similar with a box on it to opt out of - so perhaps there's been these little boxes on our medical results that we didn't even notice were there.

Norman Swan’s problem here is that his only area of expertise is medicine, and that’s also the only subject matter he cares about. He’s utterly ignorant and uninterested in the Govt’s track record as a disastrously incompetent custodian of data.

This is a misdirect 🎩 as any claim on an insurance policy already requires full disclosure and access to medical records. So what is he really saying? They want access to records to tailor premiums, deny cover, aggregate and sell data, data match to other Government data sets.

My Health Record in principle is of great value. Our legislation and T&Cs of the platform are sinking it. Another example. Politicians need to step up and remember who they represent, who they serve and who they are meant to protect

I remember being asked if I wanted to sign up, and declined at the time. I actually think it is a good idea, but don't trust the government to respect confidentiality, and all I have heard in the last few days reinforces that.

I’m seeing lots of people who only discover they’re opted in when they try to opt out

Which is why I have just opted out despite general good health and very low use of Medicare.

How have medical practices been able to opt in patients to for the last six years without their knowledge? Isn’t that a breach of confidentiality?

Turnbull argues that should be used for insurers to make sure you are not lying to them.
