Hillary “Bullet” Meadows, ca 1923 - Star shortstop of Oakland Pierce Giants, one of premiere Negro League teams in California during 1920s. Could have gone east and made more money, but he more comfortable living in Northern California. Moved from Tennessee when he was a child

The tribute to the Negro Leagues game was so well done and was such a delight to listen to that I couldn’t help but order myself a sharp new Monarchs hat and will be making another visit to the museum a priority next time I’m in KC.
