But: Key is to get people thinking about the possibility in which their behavior leads to harming somebody else. That is when people change their behavior. Simply pointing out the chance of harming others leaves too much moral wiggle room and people stick to selfish behaviors.

I agree with the article when stating: "The lesson for the real world is that health officials should be explicit in telling the public that selfish responses to an epidemic, such as going to work while sick or failing to wash your hands, threaten the health of the community."
