Last month I became the FIRST Black woman department chair in 's 127 years. Most institutions haven't broken that barrier. Nominate Black women for meaningful national & international leadership roles, including department chairs.

He knows when it is laundry day, and pulls out his dinosaur hoodie. Immediately the hoodie goes up, instinctively I pull it down. We don't wear hoodies. Why mommy? Because I don't want you to come back to my ED as another stat.
