Just a little light reading as recommended by . Excited to work with the clerkship team this summer. Not a CD/ACD (yet) myself but hopefully this way I can understand what the CDs and ACDs are talking about.

ACEP has a policy on suporting the breast feeding mother/lactation in the works. There's also the family leave of abscence policy (that's currently being updated), and the Maximizing the Potential of Women in EM policy.

It doesn't have to be this way. I stand with AFFIRM and stand for more funding to research why this happens, what are best solutions to prevent this, and ultimately to help keep our youth alive.

The ACGME common program requirements now include a requirement for “clean and private facilities for lactation that have refrigeration capabilities, with proximity appropriate for safe patient care” and citations can start 7/2019 for violations. Not sure about EM-specific!
