I mean, if you fire people, how are you going to compete? They kept Google deal secrete, which gave them more money, and it was leaked today. I just don't understand their logic.

There is no money in a web browser. Microsoft failed but print money from software and enterprise market/cloud/IT stuff. Google makes money with Ads. Apple with devices/hardware. Mozilla is in a tight position here, and they got more monies from Google deal and yet fired people.

Some juicy details. Most of the Rust/Wasmtime team hit by layoffs at Mozilla corporation. I bet no one from Management took hit.

Mozilla has extended its search deal with Google recently, but they still fired developers. This info was leaked in light of recent development. Shady stuff is going. I don't want Firefox to die out. Otherwise, we will have Google controlling everything.

FYI, all donations to Mozilla go directly nonprofit org called Mozilla Foundation. All layoffs occurred in the corporate entity called Mozilla Corporation, which makes money like $450 million per year from Google by putting a search box in the browser.
