Stone goes on to say that the VA's burn rate through community care dollars is $1 billion each month under Mission. Congress gave the VA $15 billion for the program. "I think we're safe... I'm as frustrated as you are, but I have to say at this point, our budget looks good"

It's been 8 months since the Mission Act took effect. Ranking member says the VA still has "no clear understanding" about the number of appointments that have been completed under the Mission Act, nor how much it cost. The proposed budgets are released next week.
