If you ‘stop’ at sign in then there is plenty of time to be distracted and perform a WSB - ‘pause’ immediately before needle insertion

Depends a bit on severity IMO. Epidural is highly effective and covers bilaterally and all (eg anterior to posterior) fracture sites. PVB useful second line but ideally needs specialised catheter. Less evidence for other techniques, possibly useful as a ‘low skill’ alternative
