Teaser: I’ve started working on a new generation of React hot reloading, including revamping the version. It will support function components and Hooks.

The question is not "when does this effect run" the question is "with which state does this effect synchronize with" useEffect(fn) // all state useEffect(fn, []) // no state useEffect(fn, [these, states])

Today we published reanimated@1.0.0 – apart from dropping beta label we added new transitions API. It aims to replace RN's LayoutAnimations making them more reliable and customizable. It only took few lines of code to build this demo with transitions API

just one more user wondering when Hooks support will make it into expo now that it's officially in RN?

I just had this happen too, using version 2.0.5.1 on Mojave. There's no 'Apple Remove Desktop' option in the sharing prefs however. Is this expected behaviour?

loving v2. Congrats on getting it out there. Question, do you have anywhere users can vote on next features to implement? Since early v1 I asked if there was anyway for you to implement a theme picker like - any plans to do this?

Not many people know this but there is `needsOffscreenAlphaCompositing` prop that allows to customise this behavior – see the top photo for comparison and see docs here PS: you may also want to check `renderToHardwareTextureAndroid` prop 😉

Have you ever noticed that opacity in React Native behaves differently on Android vs iOS? It is because on Android rendering is more efficient when you apply opacity to all views separately and then "multiply blend" these 🤷 However this often yields undesirable effects 👀
