For those interested in history of neuroscience, Charles Gross (who died last year) was a neuroscientist who wrote a lot of history. His work has been very helpful in my book research & I just came across his book of essays, which may be of interest: mitpress.mit.edu/books/hole-head pic.twitter.com/ULhnAjb8d8

I haven't read this book in particular so I can't say exactly, but I've come across a lot of his writing and it's always been a clear and solid tracing of an idea, which I've appreciated.

Sounds good and looking forward to read your book! During my master's, I'd chanced upon the two hefty volumes of 'Mind as Machine' by Margaret Boden as an introduction to the history of AI, and it had a lot of neuroscience history as well. Have you ever looked at that?

His writings are fantastic. Brain, Vision, Memory: Tales in the History of Neuroscience is also a great resource 👍

Although a bit embarrassing, when I first saw that, I just assumed Phineas Gage, only later to discover it was the trephined Inca skull given to Squier.
I just find that stuff really interesting, early developments, interaction with art & science & advancements in neuroscience.

Thank you for the suggestion. I just added it to the my virtual stack of 'to buy' Amazon books. I wish this was on audible.
