Bring receipts to nanog@ Has anyone yet, regarding this? I don't follow nanog@ as closely these days. I find it hard to accept this kind of stuff would be summarily ignored, if "sunlight was shone on it"

I’m in the Chicago suburbs today with the Open Connect Business Operations team touring our new OCA (Open Connect Appliance) shipping, assembly and fill site. It’s where we pre-load Netflix content on our servers before shipping them to ISPs around the world.

What would Thomas Bayes think ~260 yrs later of our unfathomable compute thrown at "algorithms don’t have bias" practitioners who’ve forgotten their priors, never seen statistically sound workflows, & won’t characterise data quality or failure modes? IMHO he’d recognise mysticism

linear port-scanning finds what appears to be an SSH server but is really an endlessh server (no real access, just faking it forever). Random scanning has a 1-in-2¹⁶ chance of finding real sshd whereas the chances of finding endlessh are ~1000-in-2¹⁶

unsure if you interpreted my tweet as the golang community or whomever @ google being malicious with this. for clarity, I do not believe it to be *actively* malicious ("oh yeah, let's screw over people with dyslexia!") but, it's 2020...

no on ever requests design layout records (aka DLR); and those that do can never seem to make it a legally binding addendum to any service agreement. so all your redundancy is SRLG'd as soon as it is out of the patch panel and/or line card.
