honestly thought the beloved breakfast muffin couldn’t be bettered but those Korean Wings were spot on. Trying to work out how many trips we can justify before the month is out!

Congratulations to Katie Bouman to whom we owe the first photograph of a black hole ever. Not seeing her name circulate nearly enough in the press. Amazing work. And here’s to more women in science (getting their credit and being remembered in history) 💥🔥☄️

Scientists have obtained the first image of a black hole, using Event Horizon Telescope observations of the center of the galaxy M87. The image shows a bright ring formed as light bends in the intense gravity around a black hole that is 6.5 billion times more massive than the Sun

Distracted by political crisis I never thanked & everyone at Yolanda’s Band Jam for their generosity to my boys. M&R are so privileged to have had such a unique experience: that it was with artists their parents admire hugely a real bonus!

On smiling as I remember the wonderful rendering of brilliant "Strict" we heard at a class assembly yesterday. Breathing quickly under a desk lid feels oddly like reality at the moment

Sounds familiar. Challenge is she has an amazing sleep but then wakes up at 3 or 4am because she’s had a decent stretch. Which impacts tomorrow. If you can face it would counsel gently waking now for food & decaf drink. But then to bed at normal hour for normal sleep. Good luck!

Further observation: voice-only interfaces are not inclusive. I'm lucky as I have a London accent. Can't imagine what it must be like for distressed people with varied accents trying to get themselves understood. At home, our Alexa struggles with Scouse & that's not even unusual

First UI fail of : if you are ringing a pension company about a bereavement, it'd be pretty special if it was the policy holder who's ringing to report it wouldn't you think? Yes maybe for joint holders but still I'd put relative as the first option?

In the first Algorithm of 2019, I lay out some resolutions for the AI community. As much as the technology advanced in 2018, it also failed us in tremendous ways. Let's work hard to make this year count, so we can turn this ship around.
