However, Kent faces a funding shortfall of over £24million supporting migrant children over many years. I and other Kent MPs are supporting asking the Chancellor to make good the shortfall. It’s not fair that Kent council taxpayers should have to foot this bill. 2/2

I have been pressing hard for further action and strongly welcome this agreement with the French that builds upon existing action to stop the small boats crossings and further tackles the people-trafficking gangs at the heart of illegal immigration. 1/2

ICYMI: Today we learnt that more homes were delivered in 2019-20 than for 33 years. A huge achievement for Government, for local councils and for the 2.5 million people who make up the housing and construction industry.

Another trade deal! Well done and team. They have secured trade deal after trade deal. Putting the UK in a stronger position as we head towards transition day - so we can make the most of the trading opportunities that are ahead.

Delighted to confirm that today we concluded negotiations with Moderna & secured access to 5 million doses of its promising coronavirus vaccine, with the option to procure more. This is on top of the 350 million doses we’ve already secured from a range of other developers.

National restrictions will apply in England from 5 November until 2 December. You must stay at home, with a limited set of exemptions. After 4 weeks we will look to return to a local and regional approach, based on the latest data.
