I’m doing the same. Live in central london and was planning trip to Richmond park but looked bonkers yesterday. I found your thread as thought devils punch bowl would be a better option.

Now have update from my midwife. Unnecessary social contact is things like going to gym, theatre, restaurants. Work from home. I can still get food shopping...

I think we are entering a new era for dads or at least how they’re perceived/ included. I agree wholly that we need to have fathers at the table. Without you we are missing out on great contribution and ultimately perpetuating inequality.

The moderator did say that her company has a relatively young workforce and she has been surprised by the take up of paternity leave which I think is very encouraging given evidence at other companies that men aren’t taking it up.

...the pressure on women in particular to have babies but stay in careers but the ultimate Faustian pact that you make by having children and knowing that for at least a year around that your career (in most cases I would say) plateaus
