the most adorable neurodivergent conversations are the ones where someone has missed someone else's joke/reference and it's just a stream of apologies and clarifications. It warms my cold little heart. Don't @ me. We are such an odd, earnest bunch 💛

I’m not angry I find you tedious and distracting for reasons others have laid out. You’re turning my thread into an unsafe space, and I’m asking you to please stop that.

I am diagnosed with both. Are you?

I’d say that’s a reductive understanding of both, reality seems to be a lot more nuanced with a much broader range of presentation that anyone ever understood.

Interesting to think of it this actually as deep frustration with a fundamentally broken channel of communication. Am I not freaking out about the feedback or even the shame, but because why can I not find a way to stop having retroactive shame bombs? Is it a misdirection? Hmm!

I guess maybe it's because (welcome to live-tweeting introspection with Myk, I guess!) it makes everything feel kind of pointless. Literally any decision could retroactively turn out to be DANGER WRONG BAD. This makes me FLIP OUT at feedback presented certain ways. :(

The worst part is that you never know when you'll learn something that'll make you realize you've been doing something embarrassing forever or still are? It's like the future contains the explosions from landmines you've already stepped on. It's such a specific horrible feeling.

The ADHD gives you the RSD to be overwhelmed with shame when you feel like you've fucked up. The Autism gives you the social and communication challenges to not realize someone is trying to tell you to do something differently. Combined? Boom! Life in hindsight.

Hey so I have what I think is probably a big mood specifically for people who are both and I call it a "Retroactive Shame Bomb": You don't realize you did something "wrong" until later, and Now It's Too Late and your inner critic devours you.

right?! We should be storing ASTs with source maps, and we should have isomorphic transforms between source maps. You and I should be able to edit the same behavior, but you write Scala and I write Elixir. Store *that*.
