Suggestion for those starting grad school: Put sticky notes of positive affirmations EVERYWHERE ✨ It’ll get rough and there will be some days that you’ll question your capabilities. The notes are reminders that you CAN do this and DESERVE to be here.

Why does the science on COVID-19 keep changing?!!! 😤 If we think of research like building a puzzle without knowing what it’s supposed to look like, it makes more sense... Try it out: can you guess what this will be by the 30 second mark?!

To new grad students: Get ready to make mistakes. Thousands. Interpersonal, scientific, small, large. Thousands. If you already knew it, you would not need the degree. The real test is what you do after you mess up.

Once people realise that diversity isn’t a checkbox but instead a long-term investment in those who would otherwise be neglected/discriminated against, we will see genuine and sustainable change.

It’s 2020 and I just found out about Zotero 😳 Well, it is an auto referencing software that makes everything easy. It’s best to cite as you write your research paper and zotero does all the work so you don’t have to!

I struggle with imposter syndrome a lot and it hinders me from sharing on my blog, but weirdly everything that’s been happening is inspiring to speak more and share my stories.

I created a moment from 2 great threads where (combined) >700 black pple in STEM introduced themselves/shared content. If you’re looking for contributors search the people in the comments instead of picking the same 2 people from your “diversity” list x
