Today a package arrived at the office addressed to a Grade 2 class! I had the pleasure of hand delivering it & check out who was inside? Such an awesome hook by the T & such a simple way to get kids pumped up about Writing outside of the classroom. Have you got a classmascot?

I think most teachers would agree with you Ben. What would be better. A year with one T or one a term over a year? Either way, an “apprenticeship” type model is surely more beneficial than 4 years of part time theory?

On paper, it means less APT time. But in theory, it should mean less planning as everyone shares the workload. Still a challenge for it to look like that.

A2:We’ve also developed a PLC network with schools in the area. Once a term teachers from same year level meet and discuss a topic. Fascinating to hear what other t’s are doing just up the road. Often all participate in same curriculum days.

A2: Our PLT’s meets every week 2 during school hours to plan, collaborate & discuss data/planning. It’s a constant learning p’ship. Benefits=consistency & sharing of knowledge. Challenges=consistency and sharing or knowledge.

Interesting concept. Bringing expertise but not being an expert. 100% agree but can see it as a challenge. Particularly once the power of a position begins to unconciously influence. Gotta keep the ego in check!
