The thing that critics of activists don’t get is that they tried playing the “polite language” policy game and all it did was make them easier to ignore. It wasn’t until they made folks uncomfortable that there was traction to do ANYTHING even if it wasn’t their full demands.

I guess to me, it's like the starfish fable... It may only be "2%" of injuries, but if an easily implemented change can mitigate SOME of the (most high profile & memorable) damage, why wouldn't they grab the low-hanging fruit?

Is this "accepted sumo fact" or is there analysis (pref. in English) on the subject? 3/3

I was looking at the recent Shodai injury, but other high profile examples of fall from height appearing to exacerbate an injury are Tomokaze and Kisenosato. Is the accepted wisdom that the raised dohyo is NOT a factor in injury, or it's a NEGLIGIBLE factor? 2/3

Rookie question: You (and several others) have mentioned before that the raised dohyo doesn't lead to more injuries. This is counter-intuitive based on the laws of physics. (F=ma / EggDropTest) 1/3

Agreed! I wish it were less often produced by institutions who keep much of their staff on poverty wages with no benefits.

I'm sorry for "The Thin Blue Line." You solve a murder mystery and then people think that's all documentary should do.
